She appeared as We passed Her a very large Ship, but not fit to be kept in our Service as a Man of War - our Sailors thought She was hogged, or broken back't - When off Erith I saw a smart pleasure Boat close by Mr Shuttleworth's House - It proved afterwards to be that Gentleman's vessel; From a distance with the help of a good Glass I discovered Sir Joseph Banks Lord Palmerston & My Brother Charles on board of Her - on our approach this smart vessel
