Windsor Castle, October 8th. 1809 The King entirely approves the Steps which Mr Perceval has taken towards obtaining the General Support of Lord Sidmouth and securing the Assistance of Mr Bathurst and Mr Vansittart Upon these occasions, as indeed in any Transaction, His Majesty is satisfied that a fair, straightforward Course is that which must ultimately prove most beneficial, but he is well aware of the Delicacy which attached to the Communication which Mr Perceval has made to Lords Melville & Sidmouth. The King approves of Mr Perceval's offering the Presidentship of the Board of Controul to Sir John Anstruther. (signed) George R.
