Death She lived at the Lower lodge - Her Niece is to me what [[underline]] Sophie [[/underline]] is to [[underline]] Augusta [[/underline]]. Poor Old Betty used to come down to see me every now and then and Wright was very kind to Her and always gave Her [[underline]] tea [[/underline]] or a Glass [[underline]] of wine [[/underline]] if She staid the Evening with Her Niece - Wright told me a week ago She looked very thin and complained of being very [[underline]] Weak [[/underline]]. I desired She might see a Doctor - She did so and He said that She [[underline]] [[unclear]] [[/underline]] Herself. She was very sharp about it and quite angry - but on Saturday last She was so much worse that She sent for Her Niece and died in the course of the day. Her Brother was sent for and He came with two of His Sisters from Warwick. In looking over Her Papers they found She has [[underline]] saved sixteen Hundred Pounds Stock. Thats [[/underline]] why She was [[underline]] [[unclear]] [[/underline]] - Did you ever hear anything so strange! - Its really terrible! I beg my [[unclear]] to Dear Augusta and My little Angels. I hope Dougal's tooth gives Her less pain and trouble. God bless you Dearest Adolphus Ever your most truly Affectionate Augusta
