To the Pp Augusta Elizabeth Mary and Sophia When I say my Dearest Augusta I mean this as an answer to all the four Princesses letters delivered to me by Mrs Beckendorff, to say that the Perusal of them gave me pleasure, would be the greatest falsehood I was [[unclear]] sad, and to say that it surprised me, as great a one, for I was fully aware that the Happenings of an independant Establishment must carry the idea of [[underline]] liberty [[/underline]] with it; and as this may perhaps may be the last time that anyone of you may be invited to take a Mothers advice let me beseech you well to consider that your situation is very [[underline]] different [[/underline]] to that of your Brothers who by their situations in life must appear in public and have their duties to perform in which they would injure themselves if they were not to appear.
