6. doing thereof, They shall respectively incur the penalties of High Treason. That the officers appointed to be of this Council, who shall be in being at His Majesty's Demise, shall continue in their respective offices beyond the Six months now allow'd by Law, subject to be remov'd by the Protector or Regent in the manner herein after mentioned; but none of those officers shall be remov'd by the Protector or Regent without the consent of two thirds of the whole Council then in being & within the Realm, such Consent to be signed in the Books of the said Council. Provided that any of those officers may be remov'd by the Protector or Regent upon the address of both Houses of Parliament, without such Consent.
