Sophia Electress of Hanover was Born 13th Octr. at the time that Her Father the unfortunate King of Bohemia, and elector Palatine lost his Electorate & was banished the German Empire. Her Mother was Elizabeth Daughter of James the 1st. King of England. Sophia was their twelfth Child. Her Brothers and Sisters were 1st Henry Frederick, who was drowned when very young at Harlem 2d Charles Louis born 1617. Victor 1650 died 1677. He was a very Amiable Prince. His Daughter married the Duke of Orleans Brother to Louis the 14th and Favorite Niece to the Electress Sophia 3 Elizabeth Abbess of Herford. She was the intimate friend of Descartes & His Philosophy, & reckoned one of the most learned Princesses of that time. She died 1600 aged 61. 4 Rupert, Vice Admiral of England who fought very bravely both at Sea, and by land, & towards the end of His life gave himself up to learning. He is said to be the inventor of a metal which bears His name. He died 1682. 5 Maurice born 1620 He went to America & never was heard of any more 6th Louisa Hollandine Abbess of Maubuisson She died 1709 aged 86 7 Louis died when a Child 8 Edward born 1625 died 1663 a Roman Catholick in France. One of His Daughters was married to the Prince of Condé 9 Henrietta Maria born 1626 married Sigismond Ragozzi Prince of Transilvania died 1661 10 Philip born 1627 died 1650 in the war 11 Charlotte born 1628 died 1631 12 Sophia born 13th Ocr. 1630. She was married in 1658 to Earnest Augustus then Bishop of Osnaburg who was born in the year 1629 at Hanover and became Elector of Hanover 1692. died 1698. Their Offspring were 1 George Louis born at Hanover 1660 He became Elector 1698, and King of Great Britain in 1714. He was married to Sophia Dorothea
