Sophia Electress of Hannover was Born 13th/ Octbr/ at the time that Her Father the unfortunate King of Bohemia, and Elector of Palatine lost his Electorate & was banished the German Empire--Her Mother was Elizabeth Daughter of James the 1st/ King of England. Sophia was their twelfth Child. Her Brothers and Sisters were. 1st Henry Frederick, who was drowned when very young at Harlem. 2d. Charles Louis, born 1617. Elector 1650. Died. 1677. He was a very Amiable Prince. His Daughter was married to the Duke of Orleans Brother to Louis the 14th She was the Favorite Niece to the Electress Sophia. 3d. Elizabeth Abbess of Herford. She was the intimate friend of Descartes & His Philosophy, & reckoned one of the most learned Princesses of that time. She died. 1680. aged. 61.
