He got Fr Shaw to introduce this in a Sermon at St Pauls, but without any Effect upon the People, Then the Duke of Buckingham went into the City where Shore [[addition]] ^ & [[/addition]] the Lrd Mayor called an Assembly of the Citizens. & the Duke [[deletion]] after [[/deletion]] with great difficulty persuaded the People to chose the Protector for their Rg. The Duke & Lrd Mayor went to Baynards where the Protector was to Carry Him
