Weymouth the 3d Septbr 1792. My dearest Son. I received Yr Letter on Fryday Morning just as we were going to get into the Boat which was to carry us on Board the Juno Frigate, where Contrary to my Nature I became so faint that it disabled me to do any thing that was right or that I liked to do. However Yr interesting Letter had Power enough to make me forget my own Feelings for some time, & to make me truely enjoy the happy Escape & Courage of Madame de Nouille. It is strange that my Sex should shew so much more Fortitude than the Men in France for every Step the former have taken in these troubles give Strong proofs of their Courage, whereas the Men shew Nothing but a Cowardly Brutality
