August 29th 1813 My Dear Mrs Fielding I take the liberty of offering you a locket which I hope you will do me the favour to accept - it is to contain the Hair of your invaluable Mother and I would not let the Jeweller put in any Hair lest it might be spoilt by Gum. You know how much I loved her whilst living and how tenderly I must ever revere Her memory. I need then add no more than that no one ever loved Her with greater Sincerity than Your very Affectionate friend Augusta
